When The Rains
Came . . .
June 22, 2006, at about 9pm, the first call for help
came in to the RestorePro Emergency Response after hours call center.
Vacations and Summits are cancelled. During the next 6 hours, another
25 calls came in requesting help for water damaged homes from Toledo
to Lorain. And when our corporate switchboard started answering at
8am Thursday morning, we received another 200+ phone calls over the
next 10 hours, logging over 700 phone calls over the next ten days.
As of this writing, Wednesday July 5th, we are still receiving calls
requesting clean-up, dry-downs, and help regarding odors and mold from
non-RestorePro serviced clients.
- We received over 700 Emergency Requests during the past 14
days (June 22nd – July 5th)
-
RestorePro immediately started providing other contractor phone numbers
(our competition), to give customers other options, as the massive
amount of calls started coming in to RestorePro – Cleveland was
not affected until the following day, so the Western region got early
support from the Eastern service providers
- RestorePro updated a complete client emergency list every few hours
-
As a client’s name came to the top of the list, they were contacted
and a crew was dispatched as they became available
-
More than 100 clients were guided over the phone on the steps they
could take on their own to minimize the damage – many lacked
the financial resources but in the interest of providing help to our
neighbors in need, we coached them. “People helping People” will
always be placed before profit.
- RestorePro office staff worked the phones Live 7am until 10pm, including
the weekend
-
RestorePro disaster crews worked 18 hour shifts logging more than 5,000
man-hours during the emergency, giving more than can reasonably be “expected”
- RestorePro provided more than 2,000 pieces of drying equipment, including
air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, extraction/pump-out trucks,
etc.
-
RestorePro “partnered” with companies and personnel from
as far away as New Jersey and Georgia to assist our clients during
the height of the emergency
- A Specialty Drying Company from Cincinnati, with which RestorePro has
a business alliance, was brought in to assist with the work load.
•
RestorePro purchased 2 semi-trailer loads of drying equipment from
the East coast to support the needs, and equipment was made available
for individual rental in an effort to support those that chose to perform
their own clean-up – this was not “business as usual”
- EVERY CUSTOMER
THAT NEEDED DISASTER SERVICES WAS OFFERED HELP BY RESTOREPRO
as of July 5th. Effort was diligently put forth at great expense to
return every call on our waiting list!
We are extremely
proud of our incredibly hard working staff and their families as
they demonstrated their honorable dedication. “People
helping People”. The RestorePro way!
Thank you for your referrals! RestorePro is honored that you gave
our name to your clients! If you know of someone still in need, we
are here to help.
